Position Summary:  Provide administrative and clerical support to Executive Housekeeper, Assistant Executive Housekeeper, Housekeeping and Laundry leads. Attention to detail and Guest assistance and service are required. This position works closely with Housekeeping leadership to ensure the department meets Big Cedar standards. The right candidate is punctual, thorough but fast, and eager to learn.

Essential Functions:

·         Direct incoming calls

·         Coordinate department mail

·         Maintain payroll in time keeping program

·         Create purchase orders and maintain communication with vendors

·         Write weekly schedules for Associates and track attendance

·         Maintain Room Attendant daily, weekly and monthly performance checklists

·         Schedule and coordinate appointments for supervisors

·         Compile and type financial and statistical reports

·         Track VIP and invited repeat reservations schedule

·         Other duties as required

 

Candidate Profile

 

Education and Experience:

 

·         Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school;

·         or six months to one year related experience and/or training;

·         or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Familiarity with computer software word processing and database and spreadsheet (especially Excel) is essential
  • Good understanding of Housekeeping department duties

·         At least 18 years of age

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of 10-key Accounting software; Lotus Notes Internet software; Abra Payroll systems; Lotus, Excel Spreadsheet software and MS Word, Word Perfect Word Processing software

Other Skills and Abilities:  The ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, a sense of urgency and a real concern for guest satisfaction.

 

Other Qualifications:  Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding associates pay rates, reviews, disciplines, etc.
