Job Description

Big Cedar Lodge is the premiere golf destination of the Midwest, with five golf courses, located in the Missouri Ozarks just South of Branson, MO. The current job opening is for an Assistant Superintendent with our Mountain Top and Payne’s Valley courses. This position will focus mainly on the daily operation of Mountain Top, but also include involvement in the construction of the Payne's Valley course. Mountain Top a design by Gary Player, is a thirteen hole par 3 course located between Big Cedar’s two newest facilities, Ozarks National and Payne’s Valley. Payne’s Valley, currently under construction, is designed by Tiger Wood’s TGR Design.

Big Cedar host the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf PGA Champions Tour event.  Top of the Rock, a Nicklaus designed par 3 and Ozarks National, our recently opened Coore, Crenshaw design will host the event for the sixth time this April.

To compliment the aforementioned courses Big Cedar Golf also offers Buffalo Ridge, a Tom Fazio design, which is ranked by GolfWeek as the best facility in Missouri.

Job Summary:

The selected candidate should be able to manage the daily operation of the golf course. Those task would include, but are not limited to; management of staff, implementation of cultural practices, irrigation scheduling, and planning and supervision of small projects.

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience: Turf degree strongly preferred, and one to three years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be at least 21 years of age, have a safe driving record and be able to obtain a Missouri pesticide license. Other Skills and Abilities: The ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, a sense of urgency and a real concern for customer service.
