Position Summary: This role requires attention to detail and an eye for cleanliness.  They are responsible for the day-to-day operations of housekeeping, public space, and laundry areas of the housekeeping department.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Establish standards and procedures for daily work of housekeeping, public space, and laundry staff

 

  • Plan work schedules to ensure adequate service

 

  • Ensures that all the laundry equipment, machinery and premises are being maintained well

 

  • Conducting regular inspections of work areas to ensure that they are clean and safe

 

  • Submit to management recommendations for painting, repairs, furnishings,

      relocation of equipment, and reallocation of space

 

  • Manage the inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ordering supplies as needed, and maintaining records of supplies used

 

  • Review employee work performance to ensure that it meets standards of quality and efficiency

 

  • Investigate new and improved cleaning instruments and methods

 

  • Selects and purchases new furnishings

 

  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:                                                  

 

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units
  • Directly supervises one non-supervisory employee
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

 

Expected Contributions:

 

  • Ensures Big Cedar Culture continues to evolve and is sustained at a high level.  Maintains Big Cedar service delivery at best-in-class and a subject of benchmarking
  • Develop budgets and drive leaders to deliver on those budgets
  • Coach Housekeeping leaders to practice leadership that drives Big Cedar culture and business objectives
  • Create and execute on plans to increase efficiencies and service levels in Housekeeping
  • Maintain high morale in the Housekeeping team
  • Ensure that the Housekeeping Department functions efficiently
  • Ensure that all rooms meet or exceed Big Cedar standards
  • In partnership with Housekeeping leadership, create and manage a training program that prepares new Associates to clean rooms in accordance with Big Cedar standards, increase productivity and reduce turnover

 

Candidate Profile

 

Education and Experience: 

 

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
  • Or one to two years related experience and/or training
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have supervisory experience in the hospitality housekeeping field

 

Requirements:

 

  • Possess a valid Missouri “E” or Arkansas “P” driver’s license
  • Clean and safe driving record
  • Extensive understanding of Housekeeping duties
