Summary:  Ensures proper servicing of all banquet functions, implementation of all banquet systems and is directly responsible for the department in the absence of the Banquet Manager.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1.   Performs ongoing associate training.

2.   Completes associate schedules according to forecast and staffing guides.

3.   Maintains professional interdepartmental correspondence.

4.   Inspects function rooms, banquet storage and vehicles using the Maximo

     process.

5.   Enforces precise compliance on Banquet Event Order requirements.

6.   Conducts monthly inventories and executes controls.

7.   Knowledge of Server, Houseperson, Lead/Trainer and Captain 

     responsibilities.

8.   Assists with associate reviews and monthly departmental meeting.

9.   Attends staff, food and beverage, banquet event order, safety and

     pre- conference meetings.

10.  Will perform other duties as required.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  Manages 5 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 30+ employees in the Banquet Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:  Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Skills:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general

business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Delphi; Lotus Notes Internet software; Maximo Project Management software, Lotus 1-2-3, Lotus Word Pro, Unitime and Win Online Ordering.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  Missouri class E or Arkansas P designated driver's license and a safe driving record is required.

 

Other Skills and Abilities:  The ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, a sense of urgency and a real concern for guest satisfaction.
