POSITION SUMMARY (Objective/Purpose of Position)The Staff Accountant – General Accounting position is responsible for assisting with the accurate and timely recording of accounting transactions for the Company's Hospitality division, for analyzing accounting data and preparing reports for management, for processing weekly hourly associate payroll, and for preparing month-end journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Participate in the month-end variance analysis process, completing in-depth analysis of assigned financial statement items, coordinating variance responses from operational and administrative departments and communicating these results to management. 
  • Review and produce daily or weekly revenue reporting for timely information to be provided to operational management
  • Audit and compile payroll submissions from operational outlets to submit consolidated reporting to Bass Pro Shops corporate office for paycheck processing
  • Coordinate the preparation of journal entries and financial statements for various subsidiaries, serving as a liaison for teams working in other locations. 
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of general ledger accounts including cash, accounts receivable, prepaid assets, accrued liabilities and deferred income balances. 
  • All other duties as assigned

 

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

(List the MIINIMUM education and experience requirements to perform the essential functions of the position)

      

       Minimum Degree Required:  Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance

       Preferred Degree:  Master's Degree in Accounting or Business

       Certificate(s) or License(s): CPA, CFA, or CMA, a plus

       Experience:   3+ years in accounting / finance preferred

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Positive, solutions-oriented attitude with a drive for excellence
  • Ability to set, measure and consistently achieve goals within established timelines
  • Ability to communicate clearly both in written and verbal interactions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with advanced formulas and pivot tables in Excel

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:  

This position could have a hybrid office space between Ridgedale & Ozark.
