Position Summary: To ensure all guests and groups are greeted in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner, handle all and payment transactions, maximize guest satisfaction, will assist Golf Professional in management and operation of the golf course in general and provide assistance to assure the course and facilities are ready for use on a day to day basis and perform general duties as assigned by the Golf Professional.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Provide exceptional service.

  • Handle sales transactions made through the Pro Shop.

  • Perform all opening and closing procedures

  • Maintain high level of cleanliness for all areas within the department

  • Report stock levels of guest, retail and office supplies to manager.

  • Adhere to all rules and regulations established in standard operation procedure manual for Top of the Rock Pro Shop and BCL/Bass Pro Shops.

  • Report all incidents of guest dissatisfaction to the manager.

  • Report all accidents/injuries that occur during the execution of Pro Shop business or on Big Cedar Lodge property through proper channels.

  • Assist guests with the highest level of professionalism.

  • Be able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally

  • Must be highly service focused with a desire to engage with guests. 

  • Demonstrated initiative – ability to think, work, and make decisions to solve guest concerns based on sound judgment.

  • Must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.

  • Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness a must.

  • Knowledge of golf course management and operation practices and procedures.

  • Professional knowledge of the standards and techniques of playing golf and of golf terminology and etiquette.

  • Knowledge of equipment necessary to maintain and efficiently operate a golf course and related facilities.

  • Knowledge of office procedures, methods and equipment with particular reference to receiving and accounting for the receipt of cash.

  • Knowledge of, and the ability to use, business telephone manners and techniques.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

  • Ability to work on feet for extended periods of time, work safely, communicate effectively, understand and carry out written and oral directions, and establish good working relationships with co-workers

  • Able to work in outside weather conditions

  • Lift, reach, bend, twist, push, pull, squat, grasp and use arm-hand coordination on a consistent basis

  • Have the ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally.

  • Be able to work weekends and holidays, mornings and evenings as business demands.

  • Writing- Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

    Basic Computer Skills - Using basic computer hardware and software (e.g., personal computers, word processing software, Internet browsers, etc.).

  • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

  • Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

  • Analytical/Critical Thinking - The ability to gather and organize information using a logical and systematic process; recognize patterns and relationships in complex data; examine data to identify implications, problems and draw appropriate conclusions; generate alternative solutions to problems; evaluate strengths, weaknesses and consequences of alternative solutions and approaches to solving problems.

  • Guest and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing guest and personal services. This includes guest’s needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of guest satisfaction.

  • Number Facility - The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly.
