Summary:  To ensure all guests are greeted in a friendly and courteous manner using appropriate procedures in accordance with Big Cedar Standards and to handle payment transactions for all foods and/or beverages purchased in the room services department. Perform close of shift accounting procedures

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Other duties may be assigned.

 

1.       Assist managers in opening and closing duties.

2.       Answer all phone calls and handle Guest request and food order appropriately.  

3.       Take Room Service food/beverage orders over phone in a professional manner ensuring that all the information is taken correctly.

4.       Have full knowledge of all aspects of the Room Service Menu.

5.       Perform close of shift accounting procedures by receiving daily cash outs from the servers and process with the proper payment method.

6.       Have full knowledge of Point of Sale system.

7.       Be able to assist with room service order setup to ensure every order is to specified standard.

8.        Perform other duties as required.

 

Education and Experience

  •  High school diploma or GED
  • Or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to work on feet  for extended periods of time, work safely, communicate effectively, understand and carry out written and oral directions, and establish good working relationships with co-workers
  •  Lift, reach, bend, twist, push, pull, squat, grasp and use arm-hand coordination on a consistent basis
  • Have the ability to lift up to 100lbs pounds frequently.
  • Be able to work weekends and holidays, mornings and evenings as business demands.

 Writing - Communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

Basic Computer Skills - Using basic computer hardware and software (e.g., personal computers, word processing software, Internet browsers, etc.).

Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

 Analytical/Critical Thinking - The ability to gather and organize information using a logical and systematic process; recognize patterns and relationships in complex data; examine data to identify implications, problems and draw appropriate conclusions; generate alternative solutions to problems; evaluate strengths, weaknesses and consequences of alternative solutions and approaches to solving problems.

Guest and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing guest and personal services. This includes guest's needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of guest satisfaction.

 Number Facility - The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly.
