Summary:  Responsible for providing guests with safe, efficient and memorable activities by coordinating and leading the Activities/ Recreation department.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Market, organize and supervise guest activities at BCL. Provide events that are of the best quality, safe in nature and which create a new experience, educational opportunity, or an added value to the guest vacation experience.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Activities/Recreation Associates.
  • Strive to exceed the budgeted revenue predictions, within expense\par and payroll guidelines.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Engineering to ensure recreational areas are safe and well-maintained for guests, visitors and associates.
  • Coordinate with the Executive Housekeeper in providing necessary
  • supplies and cleaning service to recreational areas.
  • Continually evaluate existing recreational activities and develop new activities and services to exceed our guest's expectations and make memories they will treasure.
  • Remain current in the industry through certification and involvement in national organizations.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

 

  • Manages Supervisors/Leads who supervise a total of 8-12 employees in the Activities/Recreation department(s)
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work
  • appraising performance; rewarding and counseling associates
  • addressing complaints and resolving problems

 

 

Candidate Profile

 

Education and Experience                              

 

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
  • or one to two years related experience and/or training
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience

                       

Requirements:

 

  • Possess a valid Missouri "E" or Arkansas "P" driver's license
  • Clean and safe driving record

Language Skills:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers,

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office software; including Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, etc., as well as the ability to learn additional software applications quickly and efficiently.

 

Other Skills and Abilities:  The ability to work well with a team, to prioritize and a real concern for guest satisfaction.

Resort business is 24 hours a day 7 days a week, employee must be willing to have a flexible schedule and meet the demands of the guest(s).
